Minutes of the 85th Ordinary General Meeting of the Council held
0n Monday 12th September 2005 at the Newfoundpool Working Men's Club,
55 Beatrice Road, Leicester at 8 pm.
1. Attendance:
Jamie Cooper (JC) – LAGC & Glenfield Road Allotments Society
Paul Howgill (PH) - Leicester Allotments Gardens Council
Kathy Griffith (KG) – Groby Allotment Society
Peter Longhurst (PL) Life Member
Brian Rayner (BR) - Broughton Astley Allotments
Robert Gregory (RG) – Cropston Road Allotments
Keith Turner (KT) – Aylestone Lane Allotments

2. Minutes of Last Meeting.
Agreed as a true record proposed by BR seconded KG
- Error meeting was 12.09.2005 not 13.09.2005
3. Matters Arising From Those Minutes
a) Signatories on bank mandate still to be confirmed with A & L. Only way to change account is by closing account.
4. Treasurer’s Report
a) £634.35p balance
b) EMRP – grant £150
c) PL requested that expenses be sent to him by 30.09.2005.
5. Secretary's Report
a) National Allotment Week 6th August to 14th August. Oadby & Wigston DC planning an event at Brockshill EC. CLAGC did not support. This was well supported with 350 plus attending reported KT.
b) WRAP details sent to all CLAGC societies.
6. East Midlands Regional Panel
a) Not quorate
7. Motions for AGM 2006
Resubmit the reject motion from 2005. Two signatures JC & PL.
8. Date & Venue
AGM – 12.12.2005. To be held at Newfoundpool WMC Beatrice Road Leicester at 8.00pm
9. Any Other Business
a) The future of CLAGC was discussed. Ideas requested as to what more can be done to generate more interest. Joint meetings with Leicester Allotment Gardens Council were discussed. This could be discussed fully at AGM in December.
b) Discussion re seed potato variety Vanesa. PT reported that they were hard inside and inedible.
c) KG had problems with Harbinger, tomato, black flowers, ridged and distorted fruits. This may have been due incorrect labelling of the seed. Stoner was very good and recommended alternative.
The meeting closed at 9.15 p.m.
